Circles

glinting moonlight

strokes your face

I stand

you sit before me

on the edge of my bed

our knees tickle

& I smile

I love how at night

black skin looks violet blue

your round eyes

glimmer

boring into mine

I feel surrounded,

circled

my breath coils

you whisper

about the loops

you could trace on me

my body

aching to convolve

with yours

I imagine

my head

               rotating

my toes

               curling

as your hands encircle

my wrists...

     my waist...

           my throat...

tension

so twisted and taut

caught and corkscrewed

I am left

a muddled mess of

half-formed, senseless thoughts

those piercing eyes

overpower mine

I gaze at the curve of

your lips instead

breathlessly,

anxiously,

achingly,

I fall into a stupor,

tunnel vision

narrowed in on you

I inch closer

nothing is left but

wanting to be enveloped

by the waves of your love

like a gyre

we drown in each other

until I see stars brighter than

the moonlight in your eyes

I resurface

in the rapture of these circles,

those

dark

round

eyes
